Tackling Climate Change with Machine Learning
The ML community recognises the urgent need to address climate change, but many researchers seek guidance on how to effectively contribute. This workshop will showcase impactful research demonstrating that while ML alone cannot solve the climate crisis, it can be a powerful tool for mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing societal resilience to climate impacts.
Climate change presents multifaceted challenges requiring diverse solutions, from theoretical advancements to real-world technological deployments. Many of these opportunities for impactful action also present compelling research questions for the ML community.
This workshop is part of an ongoing series dedicated to connecting researchers applying ML to climate challenges. It aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange between ML experts and climate scientists, facilitating impactful and interdisciplinary research.
