UrbanBetter Cityzen Run Leaders Workshop

Mission

The UrbanBetter Cityzen Run Leaders Workshop aims to equip selected Run Leaders with the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools to effectively contribute to the Cityzens for Clean Air campaign. The workshop will foster collaboration, provide in-depth training on project components, and outline the roles and responsibilities of Run Leaders within the broader UrbanBetter initiative

Objectives:

  1. Run Leaders will gain an understanding of the links between air quality, climate, and health.
  2. Run Leaders will gain an understanding of their roles and responsibilities as Run Leaders on the Cityzens for Clean Air Campaign. 
  3. Run Leaders will build a sense of community and collaboration. 
  4. We will conduct user testing of Cityzens Digital Platform and training materials. 
  5. Provide training on the use of the wearable sensors and the Cityzens digital platform for data collection.
  6. Provide story-telling community mobilisation and advocacy skills training.
  7. Devise strategies for distilling findings from activations to inform recommendations and solutions.


Desired Workshop Outcomes:
By the end of the workshop, Run Leaders should:

Project Understanding and Role Clarity:

  1. Have a clear understanding of the Cityzens for Clean Air project objectives.
  2. Recognize the pivotal role of Run Leaders and understand their responsibilities in contributing to the overall success of the campaign.


Cityzens Digital Platform Proficiency:

  1. Engage in hands-on user testing of the Cityzens digital platform.
  2. Provide constructive feedback on the platform’s usability, functionality, and overall user experience for informed enhancements.
  3. Gain proficiency in using the Cityzens digital platform for efficient and accurate data collection.


Cityzen Digital Platform Navigation and Self-Paced Learning:

  1. Successfully navigate the platform to input, manage, and analyze data gathered during running activations.
  2. Gain proficiency in completing the self-paced learning and training module on the Cityzens digital platform.


Air Quality Data Collection and Interpretation:

  1. Possess the knowledge and skills required to effectively collect and interpret air quality data.
  2. Feel equipped to plan and execute running activations with Cityzens, ensuring successful data collection.


Storytelling and Community Mobilization:

  1. Acquire skills in storytelling techniques that effectively convey the impact of air quality on community health.
  2. Understand the role of narrative in mobilising communities towards collective action for cleaner air and healthier public spaces.
  3. Develop strategies for effectively communicating findings to diverse audiences, including government officials, community members, and other stakeholders.


Resource Awareness and Air Quality Sensor Usage Procedure:

  1. Be aware of available resources and support mechanisms.
  2. Understand the procedure for using wearable Air quality sensors, ensuring optimal utilisation during running activations.
