As part of Clean Air Day 2025, the EU-HORIZON FOCI project will host a webinar introducing short-lived climate forcers (SLCFs) such as black carbon, methane, tropospheric ozone, and hydrofluorocarbons. While their role in global warming and air pollution is less understood than CO₂, these pollutants have significant climate, weather, health, and air quality impacts.
The session, designed for early-career researchers and stakeholders, will explore their sources, trends, mitigation strategies, and the co-benefits of reducing them. Insights will draw from advanced Earth system and climate modelling, contributing to better-informed policies and strategies.
