AfriCAN Pilot Peer Editing Initiative

The Africa Clean Air Network has partnered with the Clean Air Journal to publish select papers based on abstracts presented at the CLEAN-Air Forum 2025 (July 15-17, 2025) held in Nairobi, Kenya. This call is open to registered attendees whose abstracts were accepted for the CLEAN-Air Forum 2025.

Authors planning to submit a manuscript can request manuscript editing assistance before submission to the Clean Air Journal.

Goal

The AfriCAN Pilot Peer Editing Initiative will provide manuscript editing assistance to researchers with an institutional affiliation in Africa who plan to submit a manuscript to the CAJ Special Issue. This initiative is supported by the Africa Clean Air Network and is offered free of cost. We expect to launch the full program in January 2026.

What does the process entail?

As part of peer editing, authors will receive feedback on the format of the manuscript, presentation of data and/or brevity and style. The peer editors will not conduct a technical review of the manuscript or check the accuracy and completeness of the references.

Author eligibility

  • Registered attendee of the CLEAN-Air Forum 2025
  • Primary affiliation of the first author must be in Africa.

Important Information for Authors

  • You do not have to be a partner of the Africa Clean Air Network to participate in the pilot peer editing program.
  • Participation in the program is not a guarantee for publication in the Clean Air Journal. Any submissions made to the Clean Air Journal will be subject to its peer review process.
  • If accepted for publication, we request that authors acknowledge the AfriCAN Pilot Peer Editing Initiative in the acknowledgements section.
